The Coburger Zeitung (Coburg Newspaper) brought the world into the houses of several generations of residents of Coburg, starting for the first time in 1854, and then again from 1861 to 1935. With its editorials and advertisements, this newspaper simultaneously mirrors the social, cultural and economic life of a whole region. Two wars, economic crises, many political changes and countless small and great events are echoed on the pages of this newspaper. Therefore the Coburger Zeitung has become an important source for today's historical research on a regional level.
